A Mixed vet is needed, joining the team at this modern, well equipped veterinary practice committed to patient advocacy and total patient care for companion, recreational and farm animals. The client is a mixed rural practice that has been established for more than 45 years, which services companion animals, birds, rabbits, horses, cattle, sheep, pigs, alpacas and Australian wildlife in the local community. This is a 2 vet, 3 nurse team plus a very experienced and involved support staff. Generally day to day duties are small animal, however there is appx 10-15% large animal clients and shared OOH which could be a mixture of all! The roster involves working day shifts plus shared after-hours – and both accom (rental) and vehicle can be provided as part of a competitive package.

An experienced vet is sought for the team at this bustling 3.5 vet practice based in central Queensland. The practice is based in a thriving and attractive pastoral , cattle rearing community with a rich and interesting history. This a not a quiet backwater, but a young and busy area with good local amenities and easy access to Brisbane with daily flights. The practice is a purpose built, spacious and air conditioned facility, well equipped with amongst other things; good quality x-ray, ultrasound and ultrasonic dental. On the mixed side, the equine facilities include indoor radiography and ultrasound, stables, crush and round yard. Our client would ideally like a good all-round mixed vet, however special interests can be accommodated and are encouraged. The small animal side of the business is very busy with lots of case continuity and work-ups. The large animal side is beef cattle and includes individual cow medicine, herd health, tb testing, calvings/cesareans, bull and pregnancy testing. The equine element is general equine first opinion but can include reproductive work from time to time. Our client is looking to remunerate above award, with after-hours bonus and in the longer term, further work related bonus schemes. The working day is generally 8-5 Mon to Friday with after-hours shared on an equal 1;3 rota.
